Rita Cappelli obtained a BA in Translation and Liaison Interpreting and an MA in Conference Interpreting at the Advanced School for Interpreters and Translators, SSLMIT, Forlì, University of Bologna.
During her studies she spent one semester at the University of Manchester and one semester at the Advanced School for Interpreters and translators of Zurich (Zürcher Hochschule Winterthur ZHW für Angewandte Wissenschaften).
Rita also attended many language and interpreting courses abroad, in England, Germany and Poland.
After having completed her studies in Italy she moved to Cracow where she attended a two-year course of Polish philology for foreigners at the Center for Polish Language and Culture in the World and the interpreting courses offered by the Unesco Chair for Translation Studies and Intercultural Communication, Jagiellonian University.
Moreover, Rita successfully completed a pedagogical course organised by the Jagiellonian University and she will soon obtain the qualification to teach English and German in public schools.
At the moment she is carrying out a European Phd at the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies in Translation, Languages and Cultures (SITLeC) of the University of Bologna at Forlì in collaboration with the Unesco Chair for Translation Studies and Intercultural Communication of Cracow in order to research the use of strategies in simultaneous interpretation from Polish into Italian.
